I have the honour to report that I have granted to Police Constable, 26, Robert Thomson, of the Hong-Kong Police Force, six months' leave of absence on half pay, leave to commence on the 13th instant. Satisfactory arrangements have been made for the discharge of this officer's duties during his absence.
Encl: 1. 3rd May, 1899.
2. The usual leave certificate is enclosed.
3. Police Constable Thomson has been granted this special leave on the recommendation of the Principal Civil Medical Officer, copy of a letter from whom I forward for your information together with a copy of a minute by the Captain Superintendent of Police, and he should not be allowed to return to the Colony unless he is certified by the medical adviser to your department to be physically fit for duty.
